The purpose of the CDBG-MIT program, as defined in 84 FR 47528 (FR-6109-N-03), is to fund mitigation activities that increase resilience to disasters and reduce or eliminate the long-term risk of loss of life, injury, damage to and loss of property, and suffering and hardship, by lessening the impact of future disasters.


Improved Access to Healthcare

The CDBG-MIT Public Services Program utilizes the FEMA Health and Medical Community . Lifelines to support improved access to healthcare. The Improved Access to Healthcare Public Services Program Priority seeks to break down barriers to healthcare accessibility, enhance resilience, and empower individuals to navigate challenges faced when attempting to access lifesaving and life affirming care in emergent situations. This Program Priority also aims to fund eligible high impact projects that: Increase healthcare accessibility for underserved and vulnerable populations, Improve health outcomes with preventive and primary care, Support community health by addressing social determinants, Reduce health disparities, Enhance quality of life through health services, Support public health initiatives and emergency responses to health crisis, And foster self-sufficiency
Through proactive interventions and robust support networks, the CRP aims to foster more resilient and sustainable communities, enhancing their capacity to withstand and recover from disasters.
